Organizado por Bimeras se realizará entre el 2 de mayo y el 3 de junio en diversos lugares de Estambul. Concebido entorno al vertiginoso concepto del “Tiempo”, el festival incluirá unos 20 trabajos creados por artistas internacionales y locales.

El festival incluirá performances, diálogos entre artistas, conciertos, publicaciones, y un simposio que aborda ediciones temáticas de interés. El festival intenta combinar profunda reflexión y diversión; ¡para ofrecer una plataforma polifacética para presentar, compartir y discutir la danza, culminando cada día con cenas en el punto de reunión del festival! Este año también recibiremos un programa paralelo para artistas locales en el fin de semana del 23 y 24 de mayo 2009.

Dear All,

The May 2009 edition of iDANS Istanbul International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Performance organized by Bimeras will take place between May 2nd - June 3rd at multiple venues in Istanbul. Conceived around the vertiginous concept of “Time”, the festival will include some 20 works created by international and local artists. Jonathan Burrows & Matteo Fargion (UK), Thierry de Mey (B), Michèle-Anne de Mey (B), Olga de Soto (E/B), deufert + plischke (D), Ivana Müller (NL/HR), Juan Dominguez (E), Walid Raad (RL/US), Rachid Ouramdane (F), Andrea Bozić (NL/HR), Iguan Dance Theater (RU), Taldans (TR) and Koosil-ja (US) are among this edition’s participants.

The festival will include live and “not-so-live” performances, artists’ talks, concerts, publications, and a symposium addressing thematic issues of concern. The festival seeks to combine deep thought and fun, reflection and distraction; to offer a multi-faceted platform for presenting, discussing, sharing and debating dance, culminating each day with our dinners at the festival meeting point! This year we will also host a parallel program for local artists on the weekend of May 23rd & 24th 2009.
